Pacquiao AIMS for his Seventh Title

The Filipino boxer Manny Pac Man Pacquiao looks forward to his bout with Miguel Cotto under the welterweight title scheduled for the next Saturday, November 14 since a win will lead him to his record seventh title. Fans have been eagerly awaiting this bout and the venue is Las Vegas’ MGM Grand.

It is scheduled for Saturday night and given the importance of the match the event has attracted a considerable amount of advertising and is been promoted well. Television viewers can view the fight at 9:30 p.m. on Pay-per-view of HBO. As with any major fight, this bout too will make its appearance in well-known websites and social networking sites.

Manny Pacquiao is just 29 years of age and already he has earned the reputation of winning all the titles under six weight categories and if he succeeds in winning over Miguel Cotto he will become the first boxer to have accomplished the record of winning seven titles under various categories ranging from 112 – 140 pounds. His world titles are ‘Junior Welterweight’, ‘WBC Flyweight’, ‘IBF Super Bantamweight’, ‘Featherweight’ (Ring Magazine), ‘Super Featherweight’ (WBC) etc.

Miguel Cotto of Puerto Rico has three championship wins to his credit and if Miguel Cotto manages to outshine Manny Pacquiao, he will continue his sequential title wins that he has managed from the year 2004. The titles that he has bagged are ‘WBO Light Welterweight’, ‘WBA Welterweight’ and ‘WBO Welterweight’. No doubt, the competitors are practising hard to outsmart each other at the bout.

The fan base for boxing has increased largely throughout the world and this is evident from the grand success of the previous bouts telecasted by HBO Pay-per-view during this year. Fans become greatly interested in a match after reading the boxer’s previous record and past news. The boxers fight hard and this adds to the delight of the fans.
